Styles Overview

Styles are perhaps the most complex, and initially, confusing part of cf_ezcart. They are also what gives us such freedom in the number and type of products you may sell with our cart.

Although we use the word "Styles", you may also think of them as product "Options".

Styles work like this: There are Style Groups, which consist of one or more Styles. When viewing the product details online, each Style Group with more than 1 Style will show as a Select (Drop Down) Menu with the Styles as the choices. The size of these groups are only limited by the point at which a Select Menu will break (typically upwards of 1,000 menu items). Here is a sample of how your Styles will appear to the customer, minus our notes in parentheses:

Style Groups with a Single Style (we'll refer to these as the "Single Style" Style Groups from here on out) will show either as a Yes/No Radio Button, such as:

Or it will show as a text input field. For example if you are selling embroidered items and need customer input for the text or monogram, etc. that will be embroidered on the item:

No price will show if you set the price as "0.00".

Any style group, including the 2 types above, may be set in the following manner.

• Style Group
  • Set as Mandatory or Optional Selection or Entry.
  • Pricing may be set as "Actual" or "Percent". This will be covered in greater detail in the instructions below.
• Each Style In Group
  • Set a price if desired.
  • Set a weight if desired.
  • Set to show a picture in a popup window.

Any product may use as many Style Groups as you wish.

To get started, choose an option from the top of the menu. If this is your first time setting up Styles, start with Add Style Groups. Note that all Style administration is done through the Web Based administration.
