Manufacturers, Suppliers, etc.

The Manufacturers table is not restricted solely to Manufacturers, and also is not required. If you are selling artwork and wish to show the Heading as "Artists", you may do so under Store Setup/Edit Appearance. Click on Store Setup, then Edit Appearance (near the bottom of the page). Look for the Manufacturer Header Text field and enter what you want to appear. Manufacturer, Artist, Supplier, etc. Enter None if you are not using this option and/or if you don't wish to show anything in the product display.

You must enter administration to Add Manufacturers.

Adding Manufacturers

  1. Click Manufacturers in the Black Menu.
  2. Enter the numeric ID (see Sorting Manufacturers below).
  3. Enter the Name.
  4. Click the Add Manufacturer button.

To edit any Manufacturer, click the ID, then either change the entry and click Update, or clieck Delete to delete the entry.
CAUTION! WARNING! DANGER! Deleting a Manufacturer will "cascade delete" every Product under that Manufacturer. Please Be Careful!

Sorting Manufacturers: By default, all Manufacturers are sorted by ID in the standalone version, and in search.cfm if using that page in the integrated version. If using Custom tags or writing your own queries and using the integrated version, you'll be able to specify to sort by Name or ID (of course, you can also change the sort field manually in search.cfm if using the standalone version. Sorting by ID gives more flexibility in the order you wish to display your main categories and categories. We recommend entering your Manufacturers alphabetically and numbering them accordingly. You may also "skip" IDs, and enter them such as 10, 20, 30, etc., to leave room to add new Manufacturers in the proper position. Manufacturer IDs may be changed at any time to rearrange the order.
